Alpine Indoor Climbing

Alpine Indoor Climbing is a Gold Coast bouldering community built around challenge, creativity and connection, with dedicated climbing gyms in Robina and Currumbin welcoming everyone from first-time climbers to experienced athletes.

Founded by passionate climbers Kirsty and Jamie Booth in 2019, Alpine began with a simple idea: the Gold Coast needed more than somewhere to climb. It needed a place where climbers could meet, challenge themselves and become part of a genuine community. That philosophy remains at the heart of Alpine today.

Bouldering strips climbing back to its essentials. There are no ropes or belay partners, climbers work their way through short problems above specialised padded matting, combining balance, strength, coordination and problem-solving to reach the top. Alpine grades its climbs across different difficulty levels, meaning newcomers can start comfortably while experienced climbers continue finding serious challenges.

Each Alpine location offers something different. Robina is home to Australia's largest climbing cave, alongside the iconic MoonBoard and constantly evolving routes. Currumbin operates as Alpine's Performance Centre, featuring extensive training equipment, Kilter and Tension boards, spray walls, slab climbing and competition-style wall angles.

Route setting is also central to the Alpine experience. Its dedicated setting team creates climbs designed around movement, flow and creative problem-solving, while guest route setters from around the world bring different styles and ideas to the walls. Regular resets mean there's continually something new to attempt.

Whether you're climbing for the first time, searching for something different to do on the Gold Coast, or training towards your next competition or outdoor project, Alpine offers a place to test yourself, develop your skills and find your crew.

Five Star Reviews

“Part workout, part problem-solving and very easy to get hooked on, Alpine turns indoor climbing into a social experience where there's always another problem to solve and someone cheering you towards the top.”
Do I need climbing experience to visit Alpine Indoor Climbing?
No. Alpine welcomes first-time climbers and has climbs covering different levels of difficulty. New visitors receive a safety induction explaining bouldering, the grading system and how to get started, while climbing shoes can be hired at the gym.
What is indoor bouldering?
Bouldering is a form of climbing performed without ropes. Climbers solve short climbing routes or "problems" using designated holds, with specialised padded matting underneath. Technique, balance, coordination and problem-solving are just as important as strength.
Does Alpine offer climbing coaching and training?
Yes. Alpine offers private and small-group coaching, climbing assessments and structured performance training. Its coaches have backgrounds including sport science and exercise physiology, with the Currumbin Performance Centre providing specialised facilities for developing climbing performance.
