Discover Artisan Wines, Curated Tastings and New Favourites by the Richmond River
Isola Wine Shop & Tasting Room brings the spirit of a boutique cellar door into the heart of Ballina. Positioned within the Ramada precinct just metres from the Richmond River, it's a place designed for discovering wine rather than simply buying it.
The shelves showcase a carefully selected collection of interesting and artisanal wines, with an emphasis on quality producers, distinctive varietals and wines made using thoughtful, environmentally conscious practices. Instead of being overwhelmed by choice, visitors can talk through different styles, regions and producers before finding something that suits their palate.
The tasting room takes that discovery further. Curated wine flights allow guests to explore different varieties and regions side by side, with knowledgeable guidance available along the way. The selection changes over time, giving regular visitors an opportunity to continually encounter new producers, vintages and styles.
Food is deliberately designed to complement the wine experience. Light bites, sharing plates and special food-and-wine pairings turn a tasting into an easy afternoon or evening beside the river, while special events provide opportunities to explore particular producers and wine styles in greater depth.
Isola also creates wine hampers and gifts, making its carefully curated collection useful well beyond the tasting room.
Whether you're already passionate about wine or simply curious to learn more, the atmosphere remains relaxed and approachable. There's no expectation that visitors arrive speaking the language of wine, just an invitation to taste, ask questions, compare and perhaps leave with a new favourite.
