Paradiso Teahouse isn't somewhere to rush in for a quick cup of tea. In fact, rushing would rather miss the point.

Hidden inside one of the original homesteads along Main Arm Road near Mullumbimby, this intimate adults-only venue celebrates traditional high tea with all the ceremony, eccentricity and vintage charm the occasion deserves.

Guests arrive in their Sunday best before settling into spaces with names such as The Veranda, The Ladies Parlour and The Good Room. Vintage styling is actively encouraged, conversation is expected to meander and the afternoon unfolds at an intentionally gentler pace.

The set high tea menu is made with care and changes with seasonal inspiration. Expect savoury pastries and delicate tea sandwiches followed by freshly baked scones with homemade jam and Chantilly cream, cakes and beautifully made sweets.

Then comes the tea itself. A carefully selected collection ranges from Assam and Darjeeling to French Earl Grey, Oolong and Paradiso's own house blend, served traditionally in a silver teapot for the table. A complimentary glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne adds another layer of occasion.

Paradiso opens on selected Sunday afternoons rather than operating as an everyday café, with bookings essential and tables deliberately limited.
