You don't need to think of yourself as artistic to walk through the doors of The Craft Parlour. In fact, trying something you've never done before is part of the fun.

Crafting on the Gold Coast since 2014, this welcoming Burleigh Heads studio brings people together around the simple pleasure of making something with their own hands.

Its workshop calendar is constantly changing. Depending on when you visit, you might find ceramics and clay play, crochet, basket weaving, watercolours, resin homewares, candle making, beading, mosaics, embroidery, textured art, terrariums or something entirely unexpected. All materials are included, and workshops are designed to welcome beginners as well as experienced makers.

Adults aren't the only ones invited to make a mess. Kids' craft days, after-school art, family workshops and school-holiday activities give younger creatives plenty of opportunities to join in too.

Then there are the celebrations.

The Craft Parlour hosts birthdays, hens and bridal showers, baby showers, kids' and teen parties, team events and private gatherings, with craft activities turning the occasion itself into part of the entertainment. The team can also take creative experiences offsite, while the Burleigh Heads studio is available for hire.

Current owner Linda Farrugia and a team of artists, teachers and external experts keep new ideas flowing through the program.

Come with friends, bring the kids or arrive on your own. The point isn't perfection, it's making, playing, connecting and seeing what happens when you give yourself permission to create.
