BUILT FOR CARE

When a veterinary hospital is built from the ground up by the clinicians who will actually work inside it, the result feels different from the moment you walk through the doors. That’s the philosophy behind SASH Veterinary Group Gold Coast in Robina, a purpose-built emergency and specialist hospital shaped not by corporate design, but by practising veterinarians determined to create a permanent home for veterinary excellence on the Coast.
“What matters most is that pets and their families feel supported, informed and cared for every step of the way.”
— Dr Patricia Rosenstein, Emergency & Critical Care Specialist
BUILT BY CLINICIANS, NOT CORPORATES
Since opening in February 2025, the hospital has grown rapidly to a team of more than 120 people, but its foundation remains the same: collaboration, clinical excellence and compassionate care. For founding specialists, the appeal of the Gold Coast was both simple and significant. It is a fast-growing region with a deeply connected community of pet owners increasingly seeking advanced veterinary care close to home, rather than travelling long distances for complex treatment.
What sets SASH Gold Coast apart is not just its scale, but its structure. The one team model integrates 24/7 emergency and critical care with specialist services, allowing seamless continuity for complex and critically ill patients. In practice, that means emergency clinicians, specialists, nurses and support teams working side-by-side, sharing decision-making in real time. The model designed to reduce delays and improve outcomes when every minute matters.
At the heart of this approach is a clinician-led model. Unlike many corporately owned facilities, SASH Gold Coast was founded by practising specialists and emergency veterinarians who remain actively involved in daily operations. That hands-on leadership shapes everything from patient care protocols to team culture, ensuring decisions are grounded in clinical reality rather than distance management. It also fosters a strong sense of shared responsibility, with no department working in isolation, but a unified team focused on each patient’s journey.
SPECIALIST CARE WHEN MINUTES MATTER
SASH Gold Coast is the only emergency hospital in the region led by Critical Care Specialists, bringing advanced expertise to life-threatening conditions such as trauma, sepsis, poisoning, organ failure and respiratory distress. These clinicians undergo years of additional training beyond veterinary school, specialising in the most complex and time-critical medical situations.
A Specialist or Registrar is on site seven days a week, including public holidays, ensuring continuous expert oversight from the moment a patient arrives. In many cases, other emergency hospitals in the region refer their most complex cases here, reflecting the level of care now available locally.
The hospital’s capability is further strengthened by advanced imaging modalities, including the only MRI for pets on the Gold Coast, alongside CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and radiography. This complement of diagnostic tools allows rapid, precise diagnosis and treatment planning.
DESIGNED FOR COMFORT AS MUCH AS CARE
Yet for all its technical sophistication, the emphasis remains firmly on people and their pets. The hospital environment has been designed to reduce stress for both pets and owners, with separate cat and dog waiting areas, waiting areas for families with anxious animals, and a variety of patient housing options to optimize care and comfort. Families are encouraged to stay connected to their pets through a liberal visiting policy.

Behind the scenes, a culture of mentorship, collaboration and mutual support underpins a team of over 120 staff. Since opening, the response from the Gold Coast community has been overwhelmingly positive, from referring veterinarians to pet owners who now have increased access to advanced care close to home.
SASH Gold Coast is truly establishing itself as a leader in the one team multidisciplinary vet-care approach that our growing region needs: a permanent centre for veterinary excellence, developed and led by the professionals who practise it daily.

The heavy metal zip on my leather motorcycle boot jammed completely right as I was putting it on before a morning ride through Wollongong, and having to cut my way out of the expensive footwear with a pair of heavy kitchen shears was an incredibly painful and frustrating experience, and while I was at the bike repair shop asking the cobbler if the leather could be salvaged, a guy waiting nearby was reading about WildFortune Casino on his tablet—and I caught myself thinking that if I was going to waste any time while my bike was being worked on, I’d rather be checking out best bitcoin casino australia 2026 levelup than stressing about a ruined boot, because at least that…
