FOUR WEEKENDS, FOUR REGIONS, ONE UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY

Imagine a region where rolling hills meet sparkling coastlines, where ancient rainforests give way to lush farmland, and where the autumn air is filled with the scent of flowering natives and freshly harvested produce. Welcome to the Northern Rivers, a haven of natural beauty and culinary delights.

For the ninth year, Northern Rivers Food proudly presents the Harvest Festival™, a month-long celebration of the region's unique food culture, stunning landscapes, and vibrant community spirit. This year's festival promises to be a truly memorable experience, with a fresh format that will take you on a journey through four distinct sub-regions, each boasting its own unique flavours and experiences.

Across four weekends in May, the Harvest Festival will showcase the very best of the Northern Rivers. Weekend one (May 3-4) highlights the Byron and Ballina Shires, with a curated Harvest Trail that winds through the picturesque hinterland, revealing hidden gems and artisan producers along the way. Enjoy a leisurely Sunday long-table lunch amidst the beautiful macadamia orchard of Summerland Farm, featuring produce harvested within 50km of the farm.

The following weekend (May 10-11), the festival shifts its focus to the Lismore, Kyogle and Richmond Valley region. Don't miss the return of Lismore's famous Eat the Street amongst the activities, offering an incredible array of food, drink and entertainment. Visit the Harvest Producers' Hub, located within the Eat the Street precinct and discover many of the region's finest artisan producers.

Weekend three (May 17-18) takes you to the stunning Tweed Shire, where you can indulge in a long-table dinner at Husk Distillery, featuring some of the region's top chefs and producers. Explore the Tweed's scenic landscapes and discover its thriving food and drink scene.

The final weekend (May 24-25) celebrates the Clarence, with more unforgettable experiences, extraordinary local produce and culinary delights in store. Enjoy freshly crushed sugar cane juice and learn about cane farming. Savour the region’s renowned seafood straight from local trawlers and indulge in the Clarence’s rich bounty.

Throughout the month-long Harvest Festival, enjoy a range of activities including farm tours, tastings, hands-on cooking demonstrations, workshops, and meet-the-maker sessions. Meet celebrity chef Paul West, of River Cottage TV fame at several events, and discover the region's best-kept secrets.
